The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted Autonomous Status to DJSCE from A.Y. 2019-20 onwards for a period of 10 years, i.e., till the A.Y. 2028-29. The college is also permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai from the A.Y 2017-18 onwards.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited DJSCE with a CGPA of 3.18 out of 4, i.e., with an "A” Grade for a period of 5 years with effect from 18th of October 2019.
DJSCE is one of the few Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra state that has been awarded ‘A’ Grade consecutively by the Directorate of Technical Education, M.S.
The college is one of the very few colleges in Maharashtra state, especially in Mumbai, wherein all the Undergraduate Programs (8 in all) are accredited at the same time by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in the second cycle.
Students of the college, continue to bag top positions in the merit list - retaining the status of the college amongst Maharashtra’s premier colleges. In the academic results at the 1st year examinations (Sem. I & II) of the University of Mumbai, the college has been consistently securing 1st position during the last many years. (This is the common platform on which the affiliated colleges of the University can be rated at the same level).
The college is consistently ranked amongst the top 100 engineering institutions of our country by various agencies year after year. The year wise rakings of the college is given in College ranking tab in "about us section” of the college website.
Over 50% of successful students follow up with higher studies abroad and in India. Looking at the trend of students pursuing higher education after undergraduate studies, the college came up with a counselling centre in 2008. The centre is managed by faculty members, who offer guidance to the students opting for higher education in India and abroad.
Active students’ chapters of IEEE, IIChE, CSI, ISME, IETE, BMSE, ACM, SAE India, Pacemaker and ISHARE, in addition to 4 professional clubs and the NSS unit of the University of Mumbai.
Faculty members continue to organize conferences, faculty training and other development programmes for the benefit of both students as well as faculty members of the college and other institutions.
College provides ‘Soft Skill Training’ for the benefit of students, laying a strong foundation for the all-round development of them. The main aim of the training is to make our students corporate ready and to cultivate the art of Self-Management & People Skills in themselves.
Students regularly participate in International & National competitions, Debates, Social initiatives and Research activities in and outside the college throughout the year. Individual students and teams bag top positions in various competitions at National & International levels, often bringing glory to the institution on a regular basis.
