Transform Maharashtra is an initiative under the Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, that has brought together the creative minds in Maharashtra to solve real life problems of the state. He launched the same in the form of a competition at Mood Indigo - IIT Bombay on the 26th December, 2016. Problems like, the digital divide, waste management, etc. (total of 11 themes) were included in the competition. Teams from all over India took part in the competition and the winner of the themes by Judges’ Choice were given the opportunity to present their solution at the Maharashtra day event, held on 1st May, 2017 at the NSCI, Worli, where in distinguished guests, including, Devendra Fadnavis himself,  Shri Ratan Tata and Shri Akshay Kumar, etc. were present.
Our College team, Morphosis won the prize under the theme of bridging the digital divide between rural and urban India. They were judged by none other than Mr. Osama Manzar (the founder of Digital Empowerment Foundation).
Team Morphosis had three basic steps in its solution, identifying places in the local, where a stable connectivity could be provided such as schools, post offices etc. Second step included providing a connective Wi-Fi by means of the same technology provided in news vans. Third step included a mass training programme where some local individuals would be taught to use the internet in a very efficient way so that the provided facility can be used.
